Abstract

This research addresses the problem of illness as a narrative of the teacher distress from the discourse analysis perspective, and with the end of understanding its relationship with the production of identities in Chile. This study was conducted with teachers of the public education system, who were participating or participated in the past in the teaching evaluation process. The results show a canonical narrative characterized by a discursive construction of illness. A political interpretation of the construction and production of subjectivities in education is presented, particularly in the context of the new public management.
