Abstract

This study examines the degree to which the learning of the skill called Empathic Acuity is facilitated based on the value agreement or disagreement that the trained subjects show with empathy.

An experimental design of two contrasting groups of university students was used, which were evaluated and compared before and after a didactic-experiential training of empathic acuity.

The evidence obtained supports the hypothesis that the development of the trained skill is facilitated when there are values consistent with empathy, especially in those subjects who start training at low levels of the scale created by CII. Truax for measuring it. The results and their implications are discussed.
