Abstract

A questionnaire was built to evaluate the socially responsible behavior of students
at the University of Concepcion. The instrument has two scales: the first one evaluates the frequency of the behavior, and the second evaluates the intention that leads to the first one. The instrument was submitted to the judges’ expert validation. It was then applied to a pilot sample of thirty students of the freshmen year, to be psychology majors. Using the statistical software Statistical Analysis System on the collected data, a statistically significant influence of the intentional scale over the behavioral one was found, in addition to high internal indices of consistency for both scales. A descriptive model of the responsible behavior is emphasized based on the theoretical framework and on the collected data.
