Abstract

Some of the militant cinema movements started in the southern hemisphere of the American continent which, due to the originality of their expressive proposals and the fighting spirit of their films, would generate a great impact among the cinematographic and political circles all over the world in the 70s. Each country has different specificities that somehow determine the militant cinema groups therein set up, which means that each group is formed in a different socio-political time, and has a stronger or weaker militant tradition and a blend of ephemeral attitudes as a result of the continent's political instability.
